MOSCOW, Jan 27 (PRIME) -- Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev can hold meetings to discuss the banking sector and state help to Vnesheconombank (VEB) and Sberbank next week banking sources told PRIME late Tuesday.

Sberbank will be discussed on February 1, a source said. Another source said that on February 3 the prime minister will consider measures to help VEB, one of the country’s most influential development institutes, now loaded with bad debt. VEB CEO Vladimir Dmitriyev said earlier that support measures can be taken by mid-February.
